0:13.2	Now that Moses has instructions from God about how to set up their society and they know
0:17.1	how to set up the camp properly, the next focus is on the service of the newly built
0:21.7	tabernacle in the wilderness.
0:23.5	And that's what we looked at today.
0:25.4	Aaron and his two living sons, Eliezar and Ithamar were the ones God established as the heads
0:30.8	of the tabernacle.
0:32.3	And all the other people from their tribe, the Levites, were there to help serve them
0:36.0	and help them serve.
0:38.0	To bring some order and intention to the situation, God calls for three different censuses.
0:43.1	The first census is directly related to something God has been working out for a while
0:46.9	now.
0:47.9	Typically, the firstborn of each family would be consecrated and set apart for service
0:51.4	to the Lord, but here we see God calls the Levites his firstborn among all of Israel.
0:57.5	In 312, God says, I have taken the Levites from among the people of Israel instead of every
1:03.7	firstborn who opens the womb among the people of Israel.
1:07.0	So God is making a kind of trade here, Levites in exchange for firstborns.
1:12.6	Each of the male Levites will serve as a representative or a placement for each of the firstborns
1:17.0	from all the other tribes.
1:19.4	To make sure each firstborn of Israel is represented by a male Levite, they have to be counted
1:24.4	too.
1:25.4	So Moses does census number two.
