0:13.2	Today we drop back in on Moses' speech to the new generation of Israelites before they
0:17.2	enter the Promised Land.
0:18.8	This is his final locker room talk.
0:21.4	He's recounting all the ways they've made bad plays in the past and he's going over
0:25.2	the plays they want to execute well in the future.
0:28.5	He tells them that the wilderness was a test to refine them and it's clear that the
0:32.7	Promised Land will be a test as well.
0:35.3	It's not some kind of end game for them, some kind of reward where they can just kick
0:39.1	back and do whatever they want.
0:41.2	They personally won't retain the land unless they respond to God's covenant promise
0:45.2	by worshiping Him alone.
0:47.3	The Promised Land is just another part of God's process to restore wicked humanity in relationship
0:52.2	with Himself.
0:53.7	He knows how this next step will turn out too.
0:56.4	He's not testing them for His sake, He's testing them for their sake.
1:00.8	This generation had yet to encounter anything that was really a result of their own actions.
1:05.6	They had to endure at least a portion of the 38 years of wilderness that their parents
1:09.6	received as punishment, but they weren't complicit in rebellion at Kadesh Varnaya.
1:14.6	So this wasn't a punishment for them even though they had to endure it just like their
