Summary

'm hoping that this week's Deadpod will help keep you cool during this hot, hot weather many of us are experiencing this week. This second set starts off with a cover of the Beatles' 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road?' .. clearly a goof, or so I hope :) They get into the real show with a 'China Cat>I Know You Rider' which features some nice work by Jerry and Brent (if a bit speedy :). 'Playin' In The Band' follows with some nice jazzy interludes and flows into a nice 'Uncle John's Band'. Brent follows with one of his darker tunes, 'Don't Need Love' which leads into a quite interesting Drums/Space. They come out of that into the highlight of the set (at least for me) a hauntingly beautiful 'China Doll'. They end with the 'Throwing Stones>Not Fade Away' combo, but return for a great double encore of 'Brokedown Palace' and 'Johnny B. Goode'

0:00.0	Hello and welcome the Deadpot for the week of July 19th 2019. This is a professor so glad to pick us up this week.
0:06.0	This week we're going to play the second set from the band's performance at the Greek Theater,
0:10.0	the University of California in Berkeley on July 15th, 1984.
0:15.0	Starts out a little sloppy.
0:16.2	Why don't we do it in the road, a song they played a couple of times.
0:19.2	They can tell they're having fun, but always a bit sloppy.
0:23.0	Into China Rider.
0:25.0	This one goes pretty well.
0:26.0	There's a little jazzy influence,
0:28.0	especially as they go into playing in the band.
0:30.0	Into Uncle John's band, there's some nice jazzy jams in there a little bit dark at times quite nice and then they go into don't need love the Brent tune
0:39.8	Always powerful. It goes into drums in space. The drums in space are quite interesting this evening.
0:45.5	Check out the xylophone on some of that. It's quite interesting. Then we get, it goes out of space into a beautiful
0:52.1	rendition of China Doll.
0:54.0	Always a pleasure to be able to play that and hope you enjoy it.
0:57.2	They close this set to with Throne Stones and to not fade away.
1:00.6	Come back with a interesting broke down palace.
1:04.0	Phil is quite an interesting bomb he throws on this
