Maybe this time on the calendar is just Franz Wagner's time to shine.

Around this stretch last season, Wagner really started to heat up.

16 in a win at home against Indiana, 12 at the rack in a win over Rutgers,

and then his true breakout, a 22-point masterpiece inside a Mackey Arena that just wasn't

as loud as it normally is because Wagner

and the Wolverines controlled that game largely from start to finish. Michigan won it on February

the 22nd. In all, Wagner capped the pandemic short in season with seven straight double-digit

performances started by those three I just mentioned.

Fogder continued to grow as a defender, as a rebounder, just as a player overall.

He had graduated and shed that freshman title pretty early on.

Vagner was one of the best players on a Michigan team that had the makings of a dangerous club come tournament time.

Are we seeing the early rumblings of a similar late season search?

It did start back on Sunday in the second half.

Wagner had 10 on 4 or 5 shooting as he really helped lead the Wolverines into that

incredible comeback performance down by 12 at the half, winning by 8.

The sophomore picked up right where he left off here on Thursday, a game high 20 points,

and he only needed nine shots.

Throw in some of his normal outstanding defense and those seven rebounds he corralled,

and you have yet another impact Franz Wagner performance.

Of course, plenty of big games are on the way.

Michigan will need even more from Franz.
