It was evident from the get-go that when Dusty May took over this program,

Michigan was going to seek out the three best shots in basketball, three-pointers,

layups, and dunks.

And yet again on Sunday in the win over Washington, Michigan was successful in that area.

29 three-point attempts, 21 layup attempts, three dunk attempts, all made, two total

shots outside those categories, the quote, other twos. And yet again, Michigan had a

tremendously effective offensive performance. And the unique part about this is that the

Wolverines have been in this boat

pretty much all season long, but the area that's starting to flip for Michigan, their success

from three, it was bleak for a little while. There's no doubt. Michigan, in the month of December,

shot 24% at Wisconsin from three, 20% against Iowa, had an 8 for 18, 44% showing against Arkansas

at Madison Square Garden, and then had the worst performance of the year from downtown,

4 of 28, and that head scratching loss to Oklahoma by 1. Since that point, Michigan has turned a significant question mark into a massive strength.

Five straight games with 10 or more made threes, which is the program's longest streak since the

2015-2016 season when the Wolverines rattled off seven such occurrences, and that year, of course,

ended in the round of 64 of the NCAA tournament.

But not only is Michigan hitting threes, but they've been effective.

The Wolverine's worst shooting performance from downtown of these five games came on Sunday,

11 of 29, 38%.

But that's still for Michigan slightly, and I mean slightly raised, their three-point

percentage for the season, it's at 37.8%.
