Individual storylines are always fascinating when it comes to big games.

But it isn't just about the rivalry, even if it is a special one, Michigan and Ohio State,

a rivalry that came in dead even at 10 apiece over the previous 20 matchups.

Sunday's game was not just about Roddy Gale Jr.'s return to Columbus, where he played two seasons, where he led

the Buckeyes and points a season ago, even if it provided a fascinating environment and a really

juicy discussion point. And we learned on Sunday that it is very much not a 20-minute game,

because Michigan's best player down the stretch, the Wolverine who led Michigan to the

victory, Danny Wolfe, had just two points, two field goal attempts, three rebounds in 13 foul

plague minutes before halftime. After that, Wolf had 15 and 8 boards, and he played every

single second of the second half.

For Michigan, it's not just about closing late.

The Wolverines do enough work on the road to find ways to get the job done,

even if there have been some unique similarities to the last six games,

all wins, all by four points or less, or even in Michigan's last two victories.

Michigan gave up a lead. It was tied in this one, 80 to 80 with two minutes left at Indiana,

59, 59 with four minutes left. And in both instances, Michigan went on a 4-0 run and ultimately

went on to win, and they never trailed after that 4-0 run.

It's a bigger thing. It's about putting in the full 40 as best as you can. It's about the full 20

games that make up this big 10 slate. And even if it feels good because it's a rivalry win,

it feels good because Roddy Gale Jr. got to leave Columbus with a win amidst all the booze.

It's about a bigger picture.
