A young boy sits on the stoop of his apartment, nestled among the drugstores, bookie joints,

and bakeries that lined 187th Street in New York City.

1961, in the Belmont neighborhood of the Bronx, nine-year-old Kalshro watched as a couple of men

began fighting over a parking spot in front of him.

The altercation escalated as one of the men pulled out a baseball bat attacking the other.

In defense, he pulled out a gun. And all of a sudden, Caljaro watched the man fall to the street

in a pool of his own blood. Standing just five feet away, Caljaro made eye contact with the Italian boss responsible for the murder.

But for Chas Palmentary, he lived this very moment, and it changed the course of his life.
