Welcome back to Berlin. I'm Amy Zeyed. Dermany took in hundreds of thousands of

refugees last year. Along with my producer Laura I've been following of came to help them settle the German government laid on classes to teach them the

German language and some basics of German life. This program is the third part of

Eptisam is a really cheerful person in her 40s who came to Germany with her husband and her mother-in-law.

She's been going to her German lessons with great determination,

but she's obviously not finding it easy.

Giza?

Giza, yeah, gesse. The school is amazing, I really like it and the teacher is really good too. He's

amazing. Really polite, really respectful. He's very professional and I think he's a really gifted teacher. I think he's great.

Now I'm here with Eftosam's teacher. What is your impression of her? Is she a good student?

She is quite good student and she has really good integrated in the class.

Yeah, she is really one of the centers of emotional contact between other people.

So she is really nice and a good student, yes.

When the vast majority of refugees were allowed into Germany a year ago, German classes were hastily arranged.

But many of the students found it difficult to attend regularly, when they were needing to officially register,

arrange somewhere to live and apply to be recognized as refugees.

All very time consuming.

Initially they were housed in huge reception centres, converted aircraft hangars and

alike which offered little privacy or security.

Although some of our families have moved on, Eptosum still lives in a converted office

building. Now there was a suggestion about a flying flying flat without the refugee status.
