Hey you there, you can't ignore me. No one can ignore me. I'm Todd the announcer and Eric lets me do his announcing. I'm always right there by his side to allow the announce everything he does.

0:19.5

Even things like coughing and sneezing. His wife hates it. And now Eric much...

0:23.5

Oh, isn't he kind? Hey Alvin, guess what? What? It's Monday. It's Monday, okay. It's Monday. Yesterday I was flying back from Houston with my family. And it's a long schlep when you're tired after you've preached twice. Actually three times. I preached at second Baptist Church in Houston. What a privilege. I have to tell you that was just tremendous. Oh, good. I preached Saturday night. I preached Sunday morning and then I preached again Sunday morning at a different campus. And then

we went to the airport. Okay, quick question. Did anybody jump up and say, heretic, heretic? No, what, why do you ask? Well, that means you did very well then. Well, yeah, unless they were thinking it. No, I it was really wonderful. And I unleashed my seersucker jacket. I thought if you can't wear seersucker in Houston in August, something's wrong with the world. You're in the end times. We could be in the end times. But actually a couple things I want to talk about before I talk.

1:23.8

First of all, but any second now we have Denesh Dessousa. His brand new film just debuted this weekend. We're going to have them in the studio here in just a moment. Folks. Denesh. Dessousa is going to be here with us in the studio to talk about his new film.

1:41.7

So hold on to your hat. I can't wait to talk to him. I haven't seen him since I married his daughter a year ago. No, I didn't get married to his daughter. I married his daughter in a ceremony. I married his daughter.

1:51.6

That's right. And her then see on sale. That's like a brand and it's almost a year now. It's incredible. But I haven't seen her. I don't think since then. But anyway, so we're going to talk to Denesh in a couple of seconds. Houston. I wanted to update my audience.

2:03.6

And we're not going to get to the end of this before Denesh comes in here. But in hour two, we will I will continue at the beginning of hour two to talk about this.

2:12.6

We got an email from a lieutenant Moorefield who is with the Houston police academy. This is some months ago because on this program, I had been reading about all these shootings. And at some point, I had read a number of times how officers had unloaded like, you know, 50, 60 bullets into some suspect or something. I thought, what's going on? I don't I don't get it. Right. Right. Now when I say I don't get it.

2:41.6

I'm speaking largely from ignorance. I'm aware of that. So when I say I don't get it, I don't mean those officers are culpable. What I mean is I don't understand whether they're culpable or whether I'm misunderstanding something and they're not culpable. But I don't understand it. Right.

2:58.6

And I did throw it into question in the sense that I'm not even though I'm very pro law enforcement, I try to be fair to everybody in the sense that I want to really know what the story is because if somebody does wrong, even if it's a cop, you know, you got to address it. Right. So I said something on the air.

3:14.6

So this lieutenant, more field contacted, I said, if you're ever in Houston, if you want to come by the Houston police academy, I'll give you beaten in the back. No, he said, if you ever come by the Houston to Houston, I would love to give you a tour and explain this stuff to you. He could not be nicer. So I went with my daughter and Rose and with a couple of friends of ours, the Blake Moors, who are there as gun proficient as anybody on the planet, they're, you know, real Texans.

3:44.6

And stuff, but they they wanted to come. They had been there. They live in Houston. So we went right after we got off the plane. We went straight to the academy. We were greeted by the lieutenant and one of his colleagues there, Kelly Berg and they took us first to the shooting range, way downstairs to the shooting range. And that I posted pictures on Twitter and Facebook. And I even posted a video and I'll post more.

4:09.6

And we've re but true, but there was so much. First of all, you get down to the shooting range. And I saw a staple gun. I said, yes, I'm familiar with this gun. And I picked it up. You know, I felt the heft of it in my hand. Yes.

4:23.4

Does it repair and then it dawned on me that, you know, it's really just a staple gun. And they said, yeah, typically when we're out on the streets, we would use like an actual gun gun. And I thought, oh, wow.

4:33.6

And so that what they use are semi automatic pistols. Now it's kind of funny because I'm expecting like a revolver, you know, right.

4:41.8

And no, they transitioned about 20 years ago to these semi automatic pistols, which are really different than anything I've ever seen.

4:49.2

Right? Because I haven't really been around pistols and things, you know, for many years. So I grew up in Connecticut in really what's middle America where people do shooting and fishing and hunting and whatever.

5:01.0

But I, but I so I just thought, okay, so this is a semi automatic pistol. So we went into the range and each of them has a clip. They've got different clips, you know, seven or nine, I think, right.

5:10.6

But, you know, you're there. And as I said, I have pictures. And to people who know about guns, it's it's it's a whole lot of nothing. They know all about this. But if you don't, you know, if you're a man hat night like I am where nobody carries guns.

5:25.0

It is an amazing thing when you realize what's involved in actually shooting a pistol. First of all, the most obvious thing, the recoil and the heft of the gun. It's significant.

5:35.6

So it's not like in a movie where you're pointing something plastic at somebody like, ping, ping, ping, ping, you know, you can't do it as easily. You cannot maintain your, your aim very consistently without a lot of effort, you know, and stuff. So it's just all that was interesting. So I'm, you know, squeezing off.
