And I'm Dr. Peter McCullough. Our program today is a lecture that I have delivered as the keynote speaker on April 11th,

2025 at the Autism Health Summit that was conducted at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego,

California. The conference ran from August April 11th through April 13th.

It was a terrific conference. I want to give credit to Tracy Slepsivik, who is a mother of an

autistic child. She's author of a very popular book called Warrior Mom. And I think Tracy typifies

how parents get into a hyper-vigilant, incredibly strong mode of looking

after their children and seeking all avenues of remedy for the problem of autism.

Since autism is under-researched, there are no proven therapies to correct autism like there

are for other neuropsychiatric conditions, and there's almost no research or clinical trials

of new treatments for the future.

So parents are really on their own with children with autism. And my lecture was

titled determinants of the condition, the autism spectrum disorder, a neuropsychiatric disorder,

and I'll go through the history. Determinants are risk factors that we can integrate to

understand their contribution to disease.

It's a complex disease, and my main message in the lecture was to stop using the word cause, or causal.

There cannot be a single cause to autism, just like there's not a single cause to heart disease.

It's a multifactorial problem that's amenable to epidemiologic analysis,

risk factors, and then a thorough discussion and investigation of those risk factors. So let's get
