Hi, my name is John Kim and I'm a therapist who went through his own

rebirth. I share my feelings and revelations. I believe in casual or clinical and

with you instead of at you. I come unrehearsed on purpose because self-help

doesn't have to be so complicated.

I used to believe that you meet someone, eyes lock from across the room, and your hair stand up in the back of your

neck, and you realize that this is the one, right?

And also, when I got married back when I was 29,

a version of this happened.

My family and I had a restaurant bar in Hollywood and my ex wife walked in and she was like 19 or something.

And I was young as well, okay, I was in some creepy 40 year old dude. I was a creepy 20 something

year old dude and I felt that, you know, arrow through the heart angel singing I remember saying to myself I'm

going to marry this girl you know all of that stuff right the stuff that we see in movies

right and I the stuff that we see in movies, right? And I believed in that feeling, you know,

I believed in the one I believed in Love at First Sight, I believed in all the stuff that comes with our programming,

everything from advertising to romcoms and romance novels and I was just a hopeless romantic you know and

as I grew now of course that relationship didn't work out, I realized that there is no such thing as the one, you know, and I think it was in my 40s yeah I think it was in my 40s that I

realized that and it's almost like it's like when you're a kid and you realize

that Santa Claus doesn't exist it's almost like that feeling for adults

when you realize there's no such thing as the one. I think the one is the one who's in front of you, who you're choosing to love, and this is a choice.

And I think it's important that you choose this if you want to build something sustainable because here's the thing

if you believe in the one if you believe that someone got away if you believe that

there is someone better or you know someone that you're meant
