I'm Mark Stephen.

As you probably know, we build one of the Scotland Outdoor Podcasts and a weekly basis out of the live program we do for BBC Radio Scotland. This week saw two notable things. First, the return of Mr. Ewan McElweth. Always a joy and a delight. Secondly, the mighty water organ.

If I look to my right, there's a church there,

and there's a big long roof with red ridge tiles,

and it is absolutely stap-at-foo with herring gulls at the moment.

They're all lined up.

And as I drove in this morning, the roads are full of birds.

They're down there on the road doing something, but I don't know what. And there's heaps of them.

There's crows, rooks, seagulls, heaps of wood pigeons. I nearly ran over a song thrush at one stage,

but managed to sort of move the wheels so I didn't actually hit it. What is going on? I have no idea. I'm Mark Stephen.

And, wait for it, making a return from life from the ocean blue, the one,

the only, Mr. Ewan McElrith.

You know, when you start that kind of stuff,

I get really nervous. Mindless drivel, yes.
