In a stunning cultural shift sparked by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, suddenly it's mainstream

to oppose war and support the right of occupied peoples to resist.

Those of us who have been railing against the scourge of war for a long time have been surprised

to see apps like Uber and Airbnb transform into fundraising platforms for Ukrainian refugees,

mainstream media outlets airing instructions for how to build bombs to destroy Russian vehicles,

and the gambit of celebrities declaring Russia must be tried at the

Hague for war crimes. At the same time, the left is under attack from establishment media for

simply drawing attention to this hypocrisy. On March 4th, the National Post ran an article with the

headline, Progressives weaponizing support for Ukraine to

draw parallels with other conflicts is toxic. The previous day, Vice News ran an article about a meme

that compared Russia's bombing to illegal campaigns by the U.S. Israel and Saudi Arabia as

quote, Kremlin misinformation.

It's clear what's happening.

The U.S. war machine and its loyal media lapdogs want this moment to drum up jingoism and reject

internationalism.

But as the world focuses on the unfolding war crisis in Ukraine, as we are too, we can't give Washington the luxury of being silent

about the criminal wars it's currently waging.

Perhaps the worst in the world right now is in Yemen,

where the U.S.-backed Saudi war, despite Biden's pledge to withdraw support,

is now in a genocidal stage.
