Early this month the United Kingdom had a general election and as we all know that threw up some pretty spectacular results.

Labour are now the government, they have a majority of 174.

The Tories, well, they endured their worst result ever, and the SMP have been reduced to a rump in London.

There have also been a number of independence selected, however, which I think is a really interesting story if somewhat neglected by the broader media.

In England, five of them were elected, particularly campaigning around issues of Gaza and foreign policy.

One of them joins us today.

His name is Jeremy Corbyn.

He's formerly the leader of the Labour Party,

but he's just been re-elected in Islington North as an independent.

Very very impressive. How are you and how did you celebrate?

I'm fine, absolutely fine. I've had a very, very busy week, just meetings, events and so on and so on and

and working out what we're doing in the future next and catching up on a vast amount of

constituency casework. Celebrations, I don't drink so I'm really boring and so

we've had one event in the pub at the end of my road last night, but I was the one not drinking.

So I was able to get away with quite a long speech, which I don't think anybody else can remember but
