Now in this episode I chat with Dr Ashley Smith.

She is a psychologist and therapist based in Kansas in the United States.

And we discussed some of the biggest challenge she sees in therapy with her clients.

What the most, what her successful clients that is those that recover quicker having common

or their kind of mindsets to therapy that was really interesting

how her approach to therapy treating OCD has changed over the last 10 years that was also good to hear.

We talk about positive psychology and how Ashley integrates that into her sessions.

We talk a bit about advice for parents of kids with OCD and then we talk about her own story.

She is legally blind so we talk about her journey with that overcoming shame which I think a lot of people

with any kind of mental health condition will relate to and we talk about her

year of new experiences which is a challenge she set herself and then towards the end a lot about personal development, self-help and how that's helped us both through the years.

Ashley has a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

She worked as a star psychologistologist at a Children's Hospital and

an Anxiety Specialty Center for a combined 10 years before going into private practice.
