Summary

In this episode, Dr. Craig Koniver, M.D., a board-certified physician trained at Brown University and Thomas Jefferson University, discusses the therapeutic application of peptides and hormones for enhancing physical and mental health and performance. We explore GLP-1 analogs for weight loss, BPC-157 for wound healing and reducing inflammation, as well as peptides that increase growth hormone, improve REM sleep, and enhance cognitive function. We also cover testosterone therapy, NAD, NMN, and NR supplementation, methylene blue for mitochondrial health, stem cell therapies, and supplements such as CoEnzyme Q10 and methylated B vitamins. Additionally, we discuss effective dosages, sourcing, safety considerations, and the importance of working with knowledgeable physicians. Whether you're currently using peptides or exogenous hormones, or simply curious about their potential benefits and risks, this episode provides the scientific rationale behind how peptides function, their potential to enhance mental and physical health, and how they can optimize performance. My guest today is Dr. Craig Conover.

0:18.0

Dr. Craig Conover is a medical doctor who did his training at Brown University

0:22.0

and Thomas Jefferson University.

0:24.4

He is a world expert in what he refers to as performance medicine, which involves the use of

0:29.2

peptides and other therapies for improving mental health, physical health, and performance.

0:34.0

Now many of you have perhaps heard of peptide therapies, perhaps some of you have not.

0:38.4

A peptide is simply a small protein, so insulin is a peptide.

0:42.4

We have many different thousands of peptides in our

0:45.0

brain and body and they perform a variety of different roles. Dr. Conover's

0:49.9

expertise is in the use of exogenous, that is, peptides that one takes, exogenous

0:55.1

peptides for activating multiple pathways in the brain and body to augment health.

1:00.5

Now of course, peptides such as insulin have been used for many years now to treat things like diabetes

1:05.2

But today we talk about novel peptides including GLP1 so these are glucagon like peptide analogs

1:12.1

Things like Osempic and Munjaro which I realize these are glucagon-like peptide analogs.

1:12.6

Things like Ozempick and Munjaro,

1:14.3

which I realize are a bit controversial.

1:16.4

However, today we talk about the micro dosing of those peptides.

1:19.8

We talk about those peptides combined

1:21.2

with other peptides, as well as behavioral practices to offset the

1:24.4

muscle loss associated with them.
