What can the government get from the EU to keep its Brexit deal alive?

I asked the international trade secretary, Liam Fox, plus the president of the National Farmers Union, Minette Batters,

explains what a no-deal Brexit would mean for her sector. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again.

That is Theresa May's approach as she plans to head back to Brussels and renegotiate her Brexit deal.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister survived attempts to give Parliament

the power to block no deal and won the backing of MPs to seek changes from the EU on the backstop.

But no sooner had the Speaker announced the result, did EU leaders insist that no renegotiation was possible?

Opposition in Westminster, particularly from her own backbenchers, has temporarily quietened down, but with no sign of movement in Brussels, it's surely only a matter of time before the Prime Minister's faces yet another crunched decision to stick, twist or delay.

This weekend the focus is not on Westminster or Brussels, but on Sunderland. Nissan employs 7,000 people in the city, but Sky News understands that this week

the Japanese car giant will announce its scrapping plans to build its X-Trail model in the UK.

The impact on jobs is not yet known, but it is, of course, a major blow for British business

with just over 50 days until we leave the EU.
