And I'm Johanna from Austria, and you're listening to your favorite international podcast. And as this is the final

episode of 2024, I'd say we jump right in because we have a lot to talk about today. So much.

This all takes place in Kingston Falls, Pennsylvania in December of 1984. Kingston Falls was the quintessential, typical, small, all-American town, a peaceful, tight-knit

community where the biggest event of the year was the town's annual Christmas tree lightning.

But in the days leading up to Christmas, this idealic town was brought to its knees in

what can only be described as one of

the most destructive events in modern history. Buildings were destroyed, businesses were leveled,

and emergency services were overwhelmed. Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos so extraordinary

that many refused to speak about them for years.

Despite the scale of destruction, the official reports remain frustratingly vague.

To this day, no one can agree on what really happened in Kingston Falls that December.

Was it mess hysteria, a bizarre weather event, ball lightning, or something

far, far more sinister? Whatever the truth may be, the devastation was real. Entire city blocks

were left in ruins and the aftermath continues to puzzle investigators and scientists nearly four decades later. But as always,

let's look a little bit at what we know about Kingston Falls. The town has always been a place

somewhat shrouded in mystery, or perhaps we should say it's one of several places, because Kingston

Falls bears an uncanny resemblance to several other places across

America, places that seem too familiar.
