Alright folks, welcome to the backcountry heading podcast. I'm going to throw a scenario out

0:06.1

you. Imagine that you're in thick, thick woods hunting elk in the Rocky Mountains, and that you've got six bulls bugling at you within

0:18.0

70 yards.

0:20.2

Three different haremes have collided right in front of you.

0:24.7

And the bulls are going nuts.

0:26.6

They're chasing each other back and forth in a frenzy,

1:57.4

shoulder through a narrow gap in the trees. I put my crossh hairs right on the point of the shoulder and

2:04.8

squeeze the trigger. Man elk went everywhere like flushing coil. Bulls bugled

2:11.9

even more frenzy than they had been a minute before because their cows

2:16.2

are now running and scattering.

2:18.8

And as the woods quieted around us, and those bugles faded into the distance. We listened. We

2:28.0
