Summary

On today's episode, Sadie and Gavi discuss Pastors School, the massive IFB pastors convention held at First Baptist Church of Hammond every spring. Sadie gives us the history of the event, some truly ludicrous Pastors School stories, the grueling schedule for the attendees, and one deeply inappropriate sermon she was made to listen to when she was a young teenager.

In general we talk about a lot of potentially triggering topics on this show, including but not limited to suicide and mental health, racism, misogyny, PTSD and PTSD symptoms, child abuse, mental, physical, and sexual abuse, and spiritual abuse including guilt, shame, and fear. In most episodes we’ll mention at least a few of these topics, but we try very hard to avoid graphic detail unless it’s relevant to the story we’re telling, and we do our best to give the audience a heads-up before going into detail on any of these topics. In this episode we are discussing Pastor’s School, so we’re talking a lot about FBCH in particular, we’re talking about some of the most specific Fundamentalist teachings and the people who teach them, and we’re also going to be talking about some very weird grooming and sexual behavior perpetrated by a speaker at this pastor’s conference.

1:07.3	It is a conference that I attended as a teenager, so we're going to be talking about the history of this conference,
1:12.9	some of the wilder experiences that I had,
1:17.1	one that's particularly traumatic and a lot more that are a lot less traumatic.
1:22.0	And talking about what that experience was like for me as a teenager attending this.
1:27.7	Yeah, this is just really much, very much a, a, a, a, a look into the fundy subculture.
1:36.1	And it's so fascinating for me when we get to do these episodes that are just so specifically deep dives into a specific aspect of Hiles Anderson brand fundee.
