Summary

In this episode, Laura interviews award winning writer and reporter Audrey Gillan about her remarkable BBC Scotland podcast, Bible John: Creation of a Serial Killer. If you haven’t listened to this 10-part series, you really should. In the 1960’s Patricia Docker, Jemima MacDonald and Helen Puttock were brutally murdered in Glasgow. You may not be familiar with these names or the women, but it’s a case that has haunted Audrey all her life and it’s an important case for Laura too. Both Audrey and Laura explain why in this episode. Patricia, Jemima and Helen were strangled and killed after a night out dancing at the Barrowland Ballroom which was located in a mercantile area east of Glasgow’s city centre . Their bodies were discovered just a short distance from their homes. All three women were young mothers of small children. Laura highlights seven problematic myths regarding the case, which she believes are significant obstructions to solving the murders. Audrey shares what she discovered in the police reports which shocked her and made her question absolutely everything about the case and the original investigation. You won’t want to miss this. Listen to Bible John: Creation of a Serial Killer before you dive into Laura’s illuminating interview with Audrey. Listener discretion is advised.
