Social media can be deceiving.

We all know that.

When we scroll on Instagram or Facebook,

we often see the highlights of people's lives, pictures of a new car someone just bought,

a better paying job they were offered, or how their child got accepted into a respected university.

It can sometimes feel like social media is a big pissing contest on who has the better life.

But you hardly ever see people airing out their dirty laundry.

When's the last time you saw someone posting about how their husband had an affair

or that they just filed for bankruptcy?

That's the thing about social media. All of these people can

look so put together on the outside when in reality their lives are falling apart.

And that's the case for the story we have for you today.

Christie Sheets of Houston, Texas, seemed to have an ideal life.

She was well off, pretty.

She had a husband, two grown and beautiful daughters.
