When I first got introduced to trend following, and especially the turtle trader story and

Richard Dennis, I was always fascinated by Liz Chival, one of the two female traders in the

Turtle Trading Program.

Now there's always been some controversy about that particular issue, and I address

it in my second edition of my Turtle Trader book, and it will probably never be resolved,

but there you go. Everyone can have their opinion about whether there was one or two

turtle trading women. But it was inspirational

because it did give a certain sense of the diversity that Rich Dennis was looking for,

the different types of people that he selected. And most all of them did really damn well.

Today I reach back and I bring on a trend following trader, Kathy Kaminsky.

She is founder of Alpha K Capital LLC, a thematic fund of hedge funds focused on offensive strategies for tail risk management.

She is also a contributor to CME group.

She earned her Ph.D. at MIT and worked closely with Professor Andrew Lowe.

Her new book is also out called Trend Following with Managed Futures, The Search for Crisis Alpha,

written with Alex Gracerman of ISAM.
