The crazy thing about being in this trend following world is to see people who are seemingly

on my side.

They seemingly understand what trend following is.

And then they throw a monkey wrench into their explanation.

For example, instead of just saying that trend following is all about

price, follow the price. You don't know where the fuck the price is going to go, but just follow it.

This has nothing to do with investing in the traditional sense. You're literally just following the

price. It's almost like a

video game or something like that. Just follow the momentum. And I'll get people that

seem to get this and then they say something like this. While I follow the price and the volume,

where the fuck did you get that from? Come on. Some crazy-ass book

that's not grounded in anything. Look, when I got into this trend following world,

and ultimately, later on when I decided to write a first book, I needed proof. It wasn't just my opinion. I didn't dream it up by looking at

lines on the wall, squiggly lines on a chalkboard. I wanted proof. I wanted to know who did this.

Who did this before me? Now, some of you might be thinking that you're an artist.

You have to figure out your exact, independent, original take on the markets. Oh, that's a bunch of

bullshit too. It only takes a few minutes of looking around to realize that trend following is the winner.

It only takes a few minutes of looking around to realize that over time, over decades, over centuries, the big winners have been trend following traders.

Maybe somebody only made a million dollars with

trend following, only a million dollars. Maybe they made a billion. Sometimes luck is involved

in the magnitude of the gains. It might depend on whether you're a money manager or not, managing billions for clients and getting fees to be a trend following trader.

But what I wanted to know when I started out, who? Who were the winners?
