It's the unofficial military month on Blurry Creatures, and it continues with an incredible encounter from the wilds of Afghanistan. The most famous modern-day giant account is the Kandahar Giant--which set the internet on fire with its release in 2016. Since then, whispers and stories of other military operations encountering giant humanoids have trickled in, many finding their way to outlets like Coast to Coast Radio. This week, we speak to a US military operator who had an unforgettable encounter while on watch, one fateful night near the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Sitting on a ridge, this soldier spotted something on his thermal that he could not explain. The new night vision technology the army was testing out at that time had the capability to see ripples in clothing from 500 yards and what he saw, he'll never forget. Across an expanse, a massive human-like heat signature stood up and it was at least as tall as the 14ft tree it stood next to. Did this soldier have an encounter with one of the legendary giants of Afghanistan?

0:00.0 | It's pretty dark. Everyone else has their night vision on. I mine's currently up because |
0:08.6 | I'm looking through this. It's like a binocular, but it's shaped kind of funky. It's pretty |
0:14.8 | stylized. Remind me of like a night hawk aircraft. Really sharp lines. Looks really cool. |
0:23.4 | So I'm looking through this thing. Again, it's a dark out and I look up the mountain and |
0:27.4 | I see this really large heat signature for the distance that it's at. In my mind, I thought, |
0:33.0 | well, it's common for Taliban when they're moving from place to place. They'll kind of |
0:37.0 | huddle up around a fire, throw a blanket around themselves, and they think that we can't |
0:40.8 | see the fire, which we can. Or we can't see them in general. So I take note of it and |
0:47.6 | I say, ah, maybe it's a goat farmer. Maybe you just got stuck up there. There's goats. |
0:51.2 | You know, just keep an eye on it. Keep looking around, looking around, and I look back. |
0:55.8 | And I'm like, man, what is this thing? It's one signature, which is odd. Because usually, |
1:01.5 | you'll get a couple hot spots here and there when they're huddled up. But this is one solid |
1:05.6 | thing. I'm like, man, what is this? When it's up close, you can see the really defined |
1:11.1 | lines of different temperatures. I mean, if I'm looking at some of clothing, I'm seeing |
1:16.2 | wrinkles in their clothing. I'm able to see creases. I mean, it's good stuff. It's very |
1:21.2 | good. And on this object, I'm watching it for a good five, six minutes. Just trying to |
1:26.2 | figure out what's going on. Looking around it to see if they're kicking out patrols or |
1:29.6 | if I can see goats, just anything to give me context. And then all of a sudden, this thing |
1:33.5 | just stands up. And the trees at that elevation are about 12 to 16 feet. And the tree that |
1:39.8 | it was standing next to, it's just two, maybe three feet higher. The history of our |
1:53.4 | earth is so different from what we can imagine. |
1:57.5 | The Smithsonian, and if they found out about large skeletons somewhere, was to go get it. |
