Jay Cutler will be back under center this week for the first time since week two.

He wouldn't be playing, though, if Brian Hoyer hadn't broken his arm last week in Green Bay.

Now, reports say that Fox has said privately to people in his inner circle,

he's done with Cutler. Jay was asked about the relationship between the two, and Jay's

response was, he doesn't have a choice. Brian is out, so I have to go. What's your take on maybe

where that relationship is right about now? Well, I think

you know, Jay's been pretty clear in other quotes that he's playing for his teammates. So he made

no mention the organization. It made no mention of the coaching staff. So I think the next nine games,

you know, Jay Cutler is auditioning for potentially another job, you know, around the national

football league. So bears can opt out of his contract.

And it's been eight years.

There hasn't been a lot of success.

So I think the Bears probably will be moving forward at the quarterback.

And look, we can sit here and we can list the pros and cons over the last eight seasons

on why it didn't work or why it did at times work,

coaches, players around him. At the end of the day, when people walk up to you and say,

Jim, as a former quarterback, how do you sum up what Jay has done with the Bears? Your response

to them is? I think it's been inconsistent. You know, it really has.
