My name is Philip Kulenshov and this is 300 seconds about business.

We're all a busy people, so I have five minutes or less to get my point across.

We're almost done, just five minutes.

In episode 150, I talked about compounding your improvement effort by focusing on low-effort, high-impact initiatives.

Realizing the results from these initiatives gives you the capacity you need in order to focus on the high effort, high impact initiatives.

Where low effort, high impact typically sees realized results fairly quickly, the results from high effort, high impact initiatives take longer to actualize. These are larger projects that have a lot

of steps and milestones before the result can be actualized, but the return on them is big. These are your

annual or quarterly goals that you have to work on for weeks or months to make progress on. In order

to get where you want to get to, you need to devote most of your time on these items and make

sure you're keeping yourself on task. The payoff is big, but it won't happen right away. Once you

tackle some of those low effort high impact things,

like I talked about in episode 150, and can create capacity to focus on the high effort, high

impact work, what sort of high effort, high impact work initiatives should you focus on first?

These initiatives will require a lot of your time and attention and won't give you feedback

right away, so it does make a difference what you focus on first.

Is there some sort of principle to help you prioritize your projects?

Again, projects which won't necessarily bear fruit immediately.

I believe there is.

Doing anything is better than doing nothing, so don't spend all your time planning priorities.

But I do think there's a helpful

condition to consider when determining which high effort, high impact initiatives to tackle first.
