Happy August, my friends, whatever August means to you. If it is the end of your summer, if it is the

beginning of, you know, a month of vacay like the European cultures that just take August for

leisure or if it is a mixed bag of all of those things. I know a lot of people fit in last minute trips in August,

while also prepping for back to school, while also craving the structure of September but wanting to soak in the lazy days of summer.

All of those things I feel like come up in August as it's a

mad scramble to enjoy the season and also prep for the coming back end of the year.

I for the last few years have turned to a poem by Morgan Harper Nichols that I just love that starts like this.

Let July be July. Let August be August. And let yourself just be

be even in the uncertainty.

And it goes on, I don't want to read the whole thing,

but it is a beautiful little poem that the first week of August I have always turned to to just remember

let July be July let August be August let the things that happened be behind us and I've had such a full July and even June that I need that reminder to let those things go, the best parts and the hard parts, and move forward into letting
