Summary

My favorite things for the Fall of 2024 include a bra, a neck alignment thing-y, a documentary, a book, what's making me feel pretty, and two unexpected events that turned out to be some of my favorite moments of the year (so far). 0:36.4	reasons. Number one, it's just fun. Hearing what other people's favorite things

0:43.0	making a list of your own favorite things,
0:45.0	like getting recommendations, sharing recommendations.
0:48.0	It's fun.
0:50.0	Sometimes fun is enough.
0:53.0	A lot of times fun is enough.
0:56.0	You don't always have to be learning something or being productive.
1:01.0	It's just fun. I have to remind myself of that, which is why I preach
1:06.6	it to you. But that's the first reason that we list our favorite things every now and again.
1:14.2	It's fun.
1:15.4	The other reason is because it does serve as both a gratitude list
1:22.1	and also kind of forces you to notice things around you.
1:27.0	Sure, if you buy a new lipstick, you're going to notice that you really like it.
1:31.0	But other things in your life that just happen by circumstance, a great
1:37.3	recipe, an event, a conversation with a friend, all of these things can slip by as just like fleeting notions
1:48.6	for how lovely they were to be experienced, but we don't really truly notice them. And if every now and again we sit down to list our favorite things right now, our favorite things lately, our favorite things
2:07.2	for this season, it makes us notice them, both when they're happening and even in retrospect.
