Today's guest is Matt Collier,

guitarist and lead vocalist for the Canadian ska punk band,

The Planet Smashers, from Montreal, Quebec.

Together we break down the writing, recording, and inspiration behind the fan-favored hit.

Too much information taken from their 2019 album of the same name.

I told Matt I love the fact the Planet Smashers have been around for over 30 years,

and it's one of their new songs that we are not only talking about today,

but it's quickly become one of their signature tunes. Recorded in Montreal, the effort was self-produced by the band,

and man, does this track sound awesome. You can tell they've been a band for a while. This isn't a

new group of musicians just cutting their teeth. The performance is great. The court arrangement

is basically one idea,

but the parts that are weaving in and out are brilliant. Too much information is one non-stop chorus,

and that particular lyric is said in every part of the song except for the bridge. Oh, and for a band

that doesn't consider themselves dub at all, the dub break down in the middle of this tune is glorious.
