β†’ Time Stamps: (00:00) An overview of these chapters.(03:37) Jacob sees the future struggles between the righteous and wicked. He quotes Isaiah, and explains that the Jews will return to Jerusalem following the Captivity. The Jews will reject Jesus, but will be gathered in the end. (10:40) Isaiah speaks of things that have been and shall be. The Lord works though patterns. Kings and queens as nursing fathers and mothers. (17:17) Three servant songs of Isaiah are quoted in the Brass Plates.(24:04) God speaks comfort to those in Zion who have suffered. Jesus will conquer chaos.(28:55) Our master delivers us from the awful monster of death, hell, and the Devil. Ancient Near Eastern literature personified death and hell.(35:16) Bryce shares a personal story about the death of his brother.(46:53) The woes or cursings listed in 2 Nephi 9 are associated with the 10 Commandments. (51:06) Jacob asserts that the Jews are the only people who would crucify their God. Isaiah refers to “The Holy One of Israel” several times in his writing. An angel tells Jacob that his name shall be “Christ,” demonstrating that Jacob received revelation that the Holy One of Israel is Jesus, the Anointed One.
