It is March 2025, which means it is five years exactly since the whole world changed. And as much as I love to mark a moment, some anniversaries are hard.

Some anniversaries we wish would just come and go without any acknowledgement, let alone any fanfare.

This can be true for any kind of hard anniversary, anything that you're looking back on that feels tender.

But of course, I am also thinking about the fact that we are five years out from the beginning

of the COVID-19 pandemic that turned our lives upside down and changed so many things about

our world, our kids schooling, our jobs maybe, certainly our elections,

and everything that followed. It's a really pivotal moment in history. And I feel like the

five-year mark is a good time to look back and do a little journaling about it.

I know that March feels a little unsteady for this very reason.

Maybe the body keeps the score.

Maybe it's the posts and memes that sort of

pop up in these few weeks of March every single year for the last four years, I guess,

noting this anniversary. And maybe it's just how the world feels right now in general,

but I really felt like I wanted to sit down and do a little processing of the pandemic.
