Summary

David is back with the first part of a deep dive into other Dyatlovs, more Russian mountain mysteries! Similar enough to the infamous Dyatlov Pass Incident, the other Dyatlovs of Khamar-Daban and Chivruay Pass pose equally creepy, unsolved mysteries. Happenings like these occurring in the same place would be one thing, but these all happened in different places around Russia. In the first part of this two-part episode, Flora takes a look at the Khamar-Daban Incident. A tragedy that took place in Southern Siberia in 1993, the Khamar-Daban Incident resulted in the loss of 6 lives. Only one of the 7 to go hiking made it back alive, and her tale is harrowing and perplexing. Listen to the details and see what you think might have happened. Then keep an eye on the Blurry Photos feed for part 2, coming soon! Don't forget to watch me stream games on Twitch! Music Myst on the Moor - Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

I now, the world is rather familiar with the infamous fates of the nine hikers who died in the northern rural mountains in 1959.

It's a genuinely disturbing, compelling mystery, one that has been picked up and run with through paranormal, historical and true crime podcasts alike.

But would it surprise you to know that the ill-fated group led by Igor Dyatlov weren't the only ones to suffer such a strange, horrific, mysterious demise on the slopes of a Russian mountain?

1:06.0

Unfortunately, tragically, they weren't.

1:14.0

A mystery is odd and frightening as the Dyatlov pass incident. One could argue should only come around once, not in a lifetime, not in a century, once.

1:30.0

Yet, just 14 years later, a similar occurrence happened. 20 years after that, another happened.

1:42.0

Now these other incidents weren't exactly the same as the Dyatlov incident. They happened in their own way with their own mysterious circumstances.

1:52.0

But like Dyatlov, we're left standing alone in the cold winds of uncertainty, hurling questions at the unseen force of inexplicability, with only silence, gaining to answer back.

2:10.0

The two events in question happened in opposite corners of the country, and out of 17 hikers who left home for a challenging but spirited trek in the wilderness, only one came back alive.

2:27.0

Ten met their fate near the Shivare River on the Kula Peninsula in northwestern Russia, and six met theirs on the Hamar-Dabon mountain range in southern Siberia.

2:42.0

And the one survivor, part of the Hamar-Dabon group, told of a harrowing ordeal that again left more questions than answers.

2:55.0

Official reports downplay the deaths as mere consequences of hypothermia, but the puzzle pieces don't quite add up to the same picture.

3:06.0

And many have questioned their validity and the validity of the survivor's recount.

From catapatic winds to cursed land and everything in between as explanations, you're going to want to put an extra log on the fire and zip tight as we take a look at these other Dyatlovs on this episode of blurry photos.
