Summary

David is back from a vacation in the U.K. and brings some experience of a gothic Glasgow nature. Vincent, creator of the Gothic Glasgow walking tour, joins the show to discuss his tour and stories from the Scottish city. The largest city in Scotland, Glasgow has seen a copious amount of history. Vincent has researched the dark and creepy parts of the city center and presents his knowledge to groups all year round. 0:23.5	It is the end of 2022 and I've got a pretty fun episode here for you. Any and I are fresh off of a
0:31.1	trip to the UK in which we did a ton of fun stuff. Apologies to UK listeners for not making a big
0:39.6	deal out of this. We wanted to kind of keep it a little more low key and touristy and just kind of
0:45.6	relax and get away from stuff for a bit. Although it didn't stop me completely from looking up
0:52.0	some spooky stuff, I actually went up to Loch Ness. Did a tour on the lock? Didn't see anything,
1:00.8	but we stayed at this little B&B that was right on the lake and was just about, I'd say, a half mile,
1:09.4	maybe a quarter mile from Aleister Crowley's Bullskin House, which was pretty amazing now. They
1:16.8	do tours of this place, but they weren't doing tours when I was there. Unfortunately, they had
1:23.2	it all locked up and gated because I believe they're doing renovations on it and it kind of sits
1:28.8	up on the bank away from the road and we tried to get a picture, but it was pretty hard to see and
1:36.2	the gate went right down to the road. So I was hoping I would get to drive up there by at least,
1:42.2	but that was a no-go, but pretty cool. I was also in Nottingham and was all psyched because I was
1:49.2	going to go to this Robin Hood Museum and of course the day that we were staying in Nottingham,
1:55.8	it was one of the days that this museum was closed. That happened a few times on the trip.
2:03.0	Went to Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula when he wants to buy
2:11.9	Carfax Abbey and Whitby was also the place where the Demeter, the ship that brought Dracula over to
2:20.5	England, that's where they put in or that's where the ship washed up with the crew dead or gone.
2:30.2	So that was fun. They embraced the Dracula stuff there. They have a lot of souvenirs that are
2:34.7	Dracula-based things like that. It's very cool. Now there was a Dracula museum slash curiosity shop
2:42.5	or something there that said it was open and it sure was not. So I got a picture being very grumpy
2:49.8	outside of that. All these places I was looking forward to going to learn more about Dracula and
