And I'm Bryce.

And today we are going to be in section 10 and 11 of the Doctrine Covenants.

And we are going to be talking about some of the historical background to the translation process about Lucy and Martin Harris, a little bit about the culture, like what was going on in Palmyra prior to the publication

of the Book of Mormon? What kind of stresses did Martin Harris have and Joseph? We've done some of

this before, so it's going to be a little bit of a different angle on the history.

But we're also going to jump into what this means in God's foreknowledge.

What's the take-home lesson, or at least one of the major take-home lessons from the loss of the manuscript?

So we'll jump into that.

We'll also talk a little bit about Satan's plan, how he operates.

The Lord takes some time in Section 10 to talk about the plan and the plot and the strategy

of the enemy so that we're prepared for it. But let's jump first to the history, because this is

the lost manuscript. We're back to Martin Harris, Lucy Harris. We're now up to April.

Some people have questioned, why didn't Ten come after three? But until Oliver Cowdery shows up,

I don't know that they're really ready to tackle where do we go now in the translation. So my own

thinking is, now that Oliver is here, we need to know

what do we do with the lost manuscript. And it's intriguing to understand what's going on,

not just in Joseph's lives, but in Lucy and Martin Harris's life. So Mike, give us the background.
