talking, and I know we covered a lot of this on our previous podcast, Mike, but if you can just give us a brief intro and a rundown on what you do regarding turkey conservation, a little bit of background there, and then we'll jump right in.

For sure. Yeah. It's good to be with you, Mark. Yeah, so I'm Mike Chamberlain. I'm a researcher at the University of Georgia. I've been

studying turkeys for about the last 31 years. I did my graduate work, studying wild turkeys,

and I've been in academics for, gosh, way too many years, I guess, 25 years now and have been

conducting research on turkeys that entire time.

So it's a species that's near and dear to my heart.

And I'd say most of my current research is dominated by work on wild turkeys.

I mean, the wild turkey itself, and I'm sure we're going to touch on some things that we spoke about in the last podcast.

But, man, we're talking about an absolute, just one of the most phenomenal success stories that I've ever seen or actually been able to witness in my lifetime.

areas, though, traditional turkey strongholds, they're struggling. I mean, in my life, Mike, I saw

turkeys in my home state of Washington go from novelty to nuisance for a lot of folks. I mean, you know,

they're like, oh, yeah, we saw wild turkey. And, like,

you know, you would never get permission to hunt there because it was just like, oh, gosh, we have like one or two
