Mr. Jake Truby, why the UFL? Why the UFL? Why do we care? Football's over. It's spring football. It's guys you barely remember from Bowling played right now. I don't want to have to wait until the fall as much as I love the NFL as much as I love college ball. The UFL's happening

this week and that gets me really excited. And I think one of the other reasons that I personally love

the league is because, you know, it's a league of second chances. These are all guys who got cut from

NFL teams. These are all guys who are fighting for NFL roster spots in the future.

And at least to me, there's something pretty inspiring about that. I mean, I'm sure everyone listening

to this show has, you know, at some point in their life sort of been counted out or, you know,

told they're not good enough to do something. And these guys are still fighting to do that.

You know, they're not making a ton of money. They're doing this to try to accomplish a greater goal.

And I think there's something pretty neat about that.

That's actually, so I do love that.

A lot of the guys I have known in the National Football League who, they've been on this show,

I just happened to have, you know, whatever, Austin McNamara, Texas Tech punter,

you know, just like guys

like that have more been UFO level, not to say that they played in the UFO, but basically

practice squad hanging on to the 53, thinking about how football intersects with their life.

There's also a UFO team in St. Louis. So I've gone. I've gone to the Battlehawks.

Actually, I've been a bunch of times.

I went to two games last year.

I went to the home opener.

I actually also went to the last ever OG version of the XFL game ever played.

So basically in 2020, if you can remind your brain back to that time, the XFL had just started.

They were in week, was it a week two or week three when all the sports started getting canceled.
