Summary

Karl Howman is best known for playing Jacko in the sitcom Brush Strokes from 1986 to 1991, Mulberry in Mulberry from 1992 to 1993 and Buster Briggs in EastEnders from 2014 to 2016. As a writer, his first book, Secret Spitfires, went to paperback from hardback in 2022; he also co-directed and produced the film of the same name. His second book, A Million Ways to stay on the Run which he co-wrote with Donal Macintyre, was a Sunday Times bestseller in early 2023. The audio book, which is narrated by Karl, won the Best Audio Book 2024 at True Crime Awards .

0:38.3	dozens of plays, films and TV shows. Amongst the films he made were That'll Be the Day and
0:44.2	Stardust with David Essex, porridge with Ronnie Barker, Babylon directed by Frank Rosso, and the
0:50.4	Long Good Friday with Bob Hoskins and Helen Mirren. On TV, he's most famous for playing Jacko,
0:56.6	the lead role in 40 episodes of the comedy, Brushstrokes,
1:00.0	and of course Buster Briggs in EastEnders.
1:02.7	But he's also been in, and this is just a smaller sample,
1:05.9	warship, man about the house, Angels, Asweeney, Vandervalk,
