Welcome to the Under Center podcast, Lawrence Holmes, Jim Miller, and Alex Brown, here with you after the Bears' 17-3 win over the Carolina Panthers.

We were talking about how this could be an important week for the Bears, and we've now seen that defense step up twice, Jim,

in the last three weeks and make plays on the ball.

What does that do for this team

when their defense is playing like that?

Well, I think, one, they're getting a lot more confidence.

They're playing faster.

You see a lot of blue jerseys around the football.

And I think when all those things happen, good things are going to happen. There weren't too many missed tackles. Up front,

the defensive line, they're getting to the quarterback. I think five sacks on Camp Newton today.

And then they're contesting every single throw, whether it's Fuller, whether it's Eddie Jackson, Amos, the way he's played, and then Amukamara, he gets really

the tip of the game that allowed Eddie Jackson to come get the interception return. So I just

think all in all, the effort, the way they're playing, every one of them has made a play. They're

playing as a really good team defense that Alex, I'm sure we'll agree with breaking this group

down.

They're playing good defense. That's what they're doing. They're being opportunistic when

they get an opportunity to make a play and turn into a big play. Like not just getting

interception but taking it back for six, not just recovering the fumble. You pick it up

and you go score. There are a couple things though. There are 40 percent. fumble, you pick it up and you go score.
