Tennessee gets knocked out of the Superregionals by Notre Dame.

As I watched the last out being recorded in the Knoxville Superregional,

I started to think about Tennessee fans in general, and they're ever loyal,

passion towards supporting the State University of Tennessee.

And they've been given a lot of hope lately, and there's a strong feeling that this

Tennessee baseball team was not only going to win the Nadi for the Vols,

but also cement themselves as possibly the greatest college baseball team of all time.

Hell, even I believed, but as Tennessee has done way too much recently,

they fell flat on their face, come postseason time.

Now we've watched Tennessee struggle mightily in football mostly,

going one in 16 versus Alabama and Florida in their last 17 attempts,

not winning the East since 2007.

And while there is optimism now with Josh Hypo calling the shots,

Georgia's only getting stronger.

Then we look at the hardwood where the hiring of Rick Barnes in 2015 got everybody in Knoxville

excited, and they should be. But since 2018, the Vols have entered the NCAA tournament as a three,

two, five, and a three seed, and have yet to make it past the sweet 16.

There's nothing worse than getting your hopes up each year than watching your team live up

to the hype during the regular season, only to watch the wheels come off when it matters the most.
