Summary

In the second part of our coverage on the Amber Hagerman story, we’ll be focusing on the aftermath of Amber’s death and the reason why she is often referred to as the guardian angel of missing children. We'll discuss how the community of North Texas reacted to Amber's story by creating the Dallas Amber Plan, which would eventually lead to the adoption of the AMBER Alert on a national level. 1:10.8	but in summary, on January 13th, 1996, 9-year-old Amber was with her 5-year-old brother, Ricky,
1:17.3	and their mother, Donna, who was about 27 at the time at the kids' grandparents' house
1:21.3	in Arlington, Texas.
1:23.7	Amber and Ricky asked to go for a quick bike ride, and the kids headed to a nearby parking lot
1:27.6	to play.
1:29.3	Ricky rode his bike back to his grandparents' house after just a few minutes, but Amber
1:32.9	decided to stay behind.
1:34.9	A few moments later, a black truck pulled up behind Amber.
1:38.3	A man got out, picked her up from the bicycle, and carried her to the truck, where he put
