0:00.0 | Hello, welcome to Christy's couch. My name is Christy Lukazyak. And you are hanging out on my couch. Happy Thursday. |
0:13.0 | Well, we have made it to the month of June. And it feels insane to think that this year is we're halfway through this year. How? How? How? |
0:23.5 | And I know that I am not the only person who, when I talk about things from the past now, I have a totally skewed sense of when things happened. I'm like, well, last year, and I'm like, well, actually that was two years ago. |
0:36.5 | Because COVID has literally stolen a year of our lives. I forget about it all the time. I'm like, wait, when did that happen? And it's just it's wild to think that we were we were inside. We were inside for almost an entire year. |
0:51.5 | And now the world is opening back up. And is anyone still just a wee bit anxious when they go inside. And people aren't wearing masks because I can't speak. |
1:05.5 | When people when you go inside and people aren't wearing masks, like it's a little bit of a mind of isn't it? You're like, hold on a second. |
1:13.5 | And let me just say I for one, I'm fully supportive of the indoor mask situation because I liked not having to always worry about if I was filing it someone or if I wasn't wearing makeup. And now I'm like, oh, no, people know who I am now. |
1:29.5 | I liked that veil of, you know, incognitoness, if you will. And now I'm just out there with my face like just here I am. And it's making me slightly uncomfortable. |
1:41.5 | So now I have to rethink leaving my home ever, ever, ever, ever. So yeah, that's where we are. So the mask thing is a little bit weird. |
1:50.5 | But I will say that the one place that I'm thrilled not to wear a mask is when I'm working out because is there anything worse. I mean, look, I don't work out that often, but I'm on this kick right now, which fine. |
2:03.5 | But since I've been working out the beginning of my new found workout enthusiasm. |
2:09.5 | When I would be like working out and exercising. And I was like totally sucking wind. |
2:16.5 | The mask would be like sucked into my mouth. And I was like, it was very dramatic. And I was just like, yeah, this is not for me. |
2:28.5 | And so I'd pull it away from my face. And I would like, you know, try to breathe. And just now I just feel so liberated. I do I feel liberated. I can actually breathe. |
2:38.5 | So yeah, that's where I do enjoy not wearing a mask. And speaking of working out, I am so happy to report. I am up to 14, 14 exercise sessions, I think, since I have gone back to exercising regularly. |
2:56.5 | And my goal was to do 24, 24, yeah, 24 before we left for France. And I am on track now. Now I'm sort of like, well, I have 10 to go before I reach my goal. |
3:09.5 | And I have like three weeks before I leave. So now I'm like, could I do 20? I feel like 22 ambitious. |
3:18.5 | Give or take like because I'm recording this on Monday, happy Memorial Day. And you guys are going to hear this on Thursday. We'll see if I had gone to Tuesday Wednesday and even Thursday. |
3:28.5 | Because then I would be down to 17 in three weeks, which I think is totally manageable. I don't know. All of this exercise math, who knows it's not even about the exercise. It's like, it's like a personal mission at this point. I'm like, can I do it? |
3:41.5 | And I'm getting to the point in orange theory. So orange theory like monitors like your heart capacity. |
3:46.5 | And it's really irritating because I don't like to run. And so during the treadmill section, everybody's running and like busting their asses. And I'm a power walker. I'm like, I'm sweating to death. And like my heart is working hard, but I'm not a runner. |
3:59.5 | And now I'm getting to the point where I am getting back into shape. And it's like, I'm getting to the point where a walking isn't cutting it and my heart isn't going. My heart rate isn't increasing. |
