My guest this week is Dr. Jack Munns. Dr. Munn's has a decades worth of experience in the field of plant molecular

genetics working on complex gene regulation and nutrient metabolism projects. He obtained a

Bachelor of Science in Botany from Colorado State University while working as a lab assistant

facilitating the development of genetic markers for invasive species. Jack then earned a Master of Science from Illinois

State University, where he worked towards increasing vegetable oils and temperate grasses like corn

for biodiesel production using targeted gene expression. He then earned his PhD in botany from the

University of British Columbia, during which he worked to unravel the genetic regulation of nitrogen

starvation responses

in plants with next-gen sequencing technologies. Dr. Munts is a lead scientist at Genie Labs

and head of pathogen testing, research, and development. Now on to the show. Hey, Jack, thanks

Yeah, so if you could give listeners a little background into your personal history and Three Rivers Biotech, why don't we start there?

Absolutely.

So my background is plant molecular genetics.

So I've been doing this for over 10 years now.

I've worked on a number of projects.

I started working undergrad at Colorado State botany and then went into genetic projects working on biodiesel and genetic engineering of crops for
