pleasure to have you. I've been a big fan of your work now for a while, and most recently you really

caught my attention with your piece in Alan Ergon's research review on pre-contest natural

bodybuilding contest preparation. So maybe you can just tell us a little bit about you, your training background,

and your academic background. You've got a pretty impressive resume for both. So why don't you

go ahead and share that with us? Yeah. So I guess I'll start with my training background, I guess.

You know, I got into lifting weights. I was, you know, probably about a sophomore in high school.

I was playing baseball and just, you know, that was the only sport I was in and I didn't go out for

baseball anymore after my sophomore year and I needed something else to do. And I started going to the

gym and lifting. And at that point, I was like 125 pounds. I'm like 5, 8 and a half. You know, I wasn't very big. And so, you know, over about a

year and a half, I put on about 45 pounds, you know, those newbie gains. And, you know,

people at the gym started talking to me into, you know, doing a show. So did my shit for a show in 2004

and pretty much got crushed. I mean, I took last in

teen and second last in novice and, you know, I was all of 145 pounds on stage and it was a good

experience. You know, it was motivating and, you know, then I kept competing over the years.

You know, I competed again when I was 20 and again again when I was 22, and again when I was 26.

And that, when I was 26, I won the overall at, that was in 2012, I won the overall at the NGA Titan Classic in Des Moines and won my natural pro card.

You know, and I'm currently getting ready as long as all goes well for my first pro

shows next spring.
