Good morning and welcome to show number 199 of day four with Frank Scalish.

We usually come in a little more enthusiastic.

But yesterday, Frank, I talked to you on the phone.

I think a lot of people in the fishing community, specifically the

tournament community, we're all talking to each other. And in a day and age where a lot of things

seem important at the time and get us fired up, I call you for those too.

Unfortunately, there are real life events that happen, have happened and will happen, and happened yesterday, primarily on Smith Lake in the second day of competition at Blastoff for the MLF

tackle warehouse invitational that really put things into perspective.

Yeah, to say the least.

This is not how anyone wanted to have to start a show today.

That's for sure.

It is.

There was, I'm sure you've heard by now, there was an accident between an angler and that MLF event and another boat that I believe had five individuals on board and three of those individuals

passed away. There's a lot of press releases, a lot of emerging information out. It happened at 7 a.m.

yesterday, but I'll just read a press release. This has been picked up by all of the major news outlets.

So, Coleman, now this is from CBS. Coleman, Alabama, two boats collided during a fishing

tournament early Wednesday in Alabama, killing three people, officials said.

Major League fishing said in a statement that a boating accident occurred during the second day

of the tackle warehouse invitational held on Lewis Smith Lake, a popular recreational destination,

70 miles north of Birmingham, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, which is investigating the crash that a bass boat struck a center console-type vessel.

Three people who were on board were killed.

CBS Birmingham affiliate WIAT TV reports that the incident happened around 7 a.m.
