I'm Leno Zowie and I'm excited for this conversation for three reasons. No, three. Nice. One, it's with a rad human. Yes. Yes. Two. We talk about the U with some

international soccer team winning golden Paris Paris which is so fun.

It's fun to talk about. Three there's also so much rich life talk in this episode.

Yeah. Our guest is Olympic gold medalist and US women's national team star Sam Coffey.

And full disclosure, I have been wanting to have Sam on the pod for a long time because as you'll hear Sam is

Uber thoughtful and intentional about the way she plays soccer of course but also about how she lives her life and the 25 year old played

collegiately at Boston College and Penn State. She now plays for the

Portland Thorns of the NWSL.

She actually won the NWSL title within her rookie year in 2022.

And as you all know, Sam was a key member of the U.S. Olympic team at the Paris Games, which we said she won a gold medal.

And in fact, she started five of the six games at the Paris Olympics. She missed out on that one

game which happened to be the quarters versus Japan due to two silly yellow cards.

I don't like that rule. She played every single minute of the five

games she played in at the six in midfield. That means defensive center

midfielder for the non-socker types in our dope village,

and most important, I'm just thrilled

you have a chance to get to know Sam better
