Summary

In January of 2001, Jason Newsted quit Metallica. Of the many complicated reasons for the split, one of them centered around Newsted's side project, eclectic hard rock band, Echobrain. In this episode, we break down the formation of Echobrain starting all the way back to a super bowl in 1995 and on through recording at the Chophouse and old school, DIY touring. We listen to Echobrain's 2002 self titled debut with running commentary. We think you'll be surprised by our reaction. 1:39.2	listen through anything. I just kind of just make sure everything was good level-wise. And I was like,

1:52.2	I mean, I was at the height of my Metallica fandom in 2000. Definitely devastated that Jason
1:57.4	was leaving. Really confused about all of that. Right. Confused about the Playboy interview, which we covered last week.

2:07.1	And I'm sure that it would have been swirling around that Jason was in a new kick-ass band
