0:46.3	And health is the issue we'll be talking about in this episode.
0:51.3	From hospitals to care homes, the outsourcing and privatization of health care,
0:57.3	in combination with various EU austerity policies, have significantly degraded EU member
1:03.1	state's capacity to deal effectively with COVID-19 and thus costing extra lives. And unfortunately,
1:10.7	this quite unhealthy tendency has been going on all over the world, hitting
1:15.4	the poorest hardest.
1:19.9	I will be talking with Aurour Gieux, researcher and campaigner at Oxfam.
1:24.8	This NGO has just published a new report on the growing inequality called
1:29.0	the inequality virus, showing that inequality is literally as deadly as COVID-19.
1:37.1	Then I will be joined by Lee Haynes, a PhD researcher in political science at Ghent University,
1:42.7	where her work focuses on the influence social movements
1:46.0	can have on health policy.
1:48.0	Originally from Texas in the US,
1:50.0	Lee is also a health activist with the People's Health Movement,
1:54.0	advocating and organizing for the right to health around the world.
1:58.0	She is also involved in the European Citizens Initiative called No Profit for On Pandemic,
2:04.6	seeking one million signatures by the end of this year.
