Hamas and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire deal to halt war. While Qatar has stated the ceasefire

will start on Sunday, this is all information that we're getting live. Katar, Egypt, and the U.S.

have also announced that mediation efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza have succeeded.

Hostages will be released in humanitarian aid will surge into Gaza, end quote. According to preliminary Al Jazeera analysis, pressure by the U.S.

seems to have finally pushed Israel into accepting the ceasefire deal. These, quote, the Israelis

finally realize that they are not going to get a better deal, that they must go along with this.

American pressure finally seems to have

pushed them over the edge. Now, whether this is going to mean a permanent stop in fighting

is obviously yet to be seen. Continuing with the quote, if that happens, what we have here

is a significant but very costly victory for Hamas.

The same analyst added that President-elect Donald Trump may be the one who, quote,

finally gets Israel to define its borders and stop relying on U.S. military aid to save them

every time they get into trouble. He may turn out to be the person
