the hearts of pitter-patter after I got the bat signal that, uh, we must podcast.

Uh, the, the bat signal, no less. And the bat signal coming from a slightly unusual place, too.

That's right. That's right. You are in my time zone. I am in your time zone. So a little bit of a life update. I'm in Singapore for the next few months with work. And actually the last time we podcasted, I was in quarantine in Australia and I was dying to talk about it except for the fact that I had decided to surprise my parents. And my mom still listens to this podcast. so I couldn't mention it. But now I'm on

this side of the Pacific, and it feels somewhat appropriate given the topic that we're about to

dive into. Well, you tell me, you're the one that's at the bat signal, so you take the lead.

So, I'm pretty proud of my country.

You know, Australian.

Yeah, I know.

Here we go.

When you start out, when you start out any conversation with just like an overly generic praise, you know it's going to be ugly.

But continue.

It's like, you know, James is, James is a friend.

But, but, yes, the butt is coming.

You know, I'm proud of James, but, you know, I'll continue.

Every now and then, something, I mean, every now and then something comes out of Australia

where you just put your head in your hands and you think, oh man, what were they thinking? And it's really coming to

fruition. It started last year. And what I'm talking about is the proposed and what is now

getting close to no longer being proposed media bargaining laws that

the Australian government put forward that's basically going to govern the way that the tech giants.

And let's be very specific.

They've created the legislation.
